I’m mad about a few things. I’ve always been mad about not being born a mermaid (isn’t everybody?). More recently however, I’m mad about being deep into the second half of my life without ever looking up at the clock. I’m mad ’cause my joints hurt. I’m mad ’cause I’m not a size 10 anymore.
I suddenly feel an urgency to find the fearless carefree girl I left behind shortly after kids and the mortgage took over. It’s time to have fun again!
Now where did I put that bucket list…
I am mad each day I wake up to recall that I am not a mermaid. Your writing is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your stories.

Hey, CK. Because you’re a blogger I’ve been enjoying a lot, I have nominated you for a Liebster Award! If you don’t know it, it’s sort of a chain-letter award bloggers give to other bloggers they really like. If you accept, you can find the rules by visiting 2000detours.com and reading my post, “I’ve Been Nominated for a Liebster!” It calls out you and a few other of my favorite bloggers. Keep writing! And don’t give up–you may turn into a mermaid yet. 🙂

Hello,
Wonderful reading!
In your blog https://diaryofamadbabyboomer.com/tag/john-glascock-baldwin-bridge/, you mention the John Glascock Baldwyn bridge, and I would like to go there. Would you able to tell me its approximate location (and which trail to take for it?) Many thanks!

Take the James Irvin Trail which you can catch at Fern Canyon and the bridge is not far from there. It’s an amazing trail among the redwoods. Enjoy!
